Imrahor Mosque: project with Assorestauro

Brenta is one of the suppliers of materials involved in the restoration and redevelopment project of the Imrahor Mosque, organized by the Italian Trade Agency and in collaboration with Assorestauro. The project involves synergistic collaboration between some companies of excellence in the sector, with the aim of transmitting knowledge and new technologies of Italian conservative restoration to Turkish experts and institutions. The mosque of Imrahor, was born in ancient times as the Monastery of Studios, founded in Constantinople around 454 AD. In the Byzantine era, with its church dedicated to Ioannes Prodromos (as it housed the relics of John the Baptist) it was among the most important monuments of the city as well as one of the oldest churches. It was later transformed into a mosque by Bayezid II in the 13th century. following the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople. It fell into disrepair at the end of the 19th century following an earthquake and a disastrous fire that has left visible traces still today.
